NOTICE OF REFERENDUM
Pursuant to the provisions of the Colorado Agricultural Marketing Act of 1939 (Title 35, Article 28, Colorado Revised Statutes), NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that John T. Salazar, Commissioner of Agriculture, State of Colorado, will conduct a referendum March 12-21, 2014, to be held in the 32 counties affected by the Colorado Wheat Marketing Order. The purpose of the referendum is to allow wheat producers of the said 32 counties to determine if the Colorado Wheat Marketing Order should be amended.
The amendment to be voted upon will concern re-approval of a refundable increase in the maximum marketing order assessment.
Producers will be mailed ballots for the referendum, which are to be returned to the Colorado Department of Agriculture postmarked not later than March 21, 2014. Producers who do not receive ballots by mail may obtain their ballots by a telephone request to the Colorado Department of Agriculture at (303) 239-4100 or by email request to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
